WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY

WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY

What is Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) is a 3-minute therapeutic application of extremely cold, dry air, between -185 degrees to – 260 degrees Fahrenheit. During this time, WBC stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities by causing the body to draw blood to the heart and vital organs where it becomes more oxygenated, detoxified, and enriched with therapeutic antioxidants. Once this rich oxygenated blood is pumped back through your body, it helps to reduce inflammation, improve muscle tissue recovery and boosts your immune system. Oh and it makes you feel incredible!

How Does the Whole Body Cryotherapy Work?

  • 1. Whole Body Cryotherapy uses nitrogen gas to cool off the skin's surface for approximately 30 degrees.
  • 2. The cold penetrates the skin for about half a millimeter which is deep enough to reach your skin's cold receptors.
  • 3. Cold receptors gets activated and gives the body the illusion that it is freezing to death.
  • 4. As a defense mechanism, the body engages it's circulatory system and starts sending blood to the core to protect it from the cold treatment.
  • 5. In this process, blood is forced through the liver and kidneys and the detox process begins.
  • 6. The body starts trying to protect itself and starts healing the areas where inflammation is present.
  • 7. As a result of this process, the body elevates hormones such as dopamine and raises the antioxidant capacity of the blood. Collagen production and growth of new connective tissue is elevated.
  • 8. The metabolism gets kicked into overdrive and caloric burn is accelerated.

How Often Can You Do Cryotherapy?

The amount of sessions you have to come in to see results depends on what you are coming in for. For most people that are dealing with overall pain and inflammation, we recommend coming in every day if not every other day. For a lot of people with busy schedules, the magic number seems to be twice a week for the first couple of months.

Once you start to feel a lot better and see progress, then you can start coming in once every week, every other week or even once a month. It all depends on how well you feel.

It is not recommended to stop coming in after overall pain subsides because the pain tends to come back if the treatment is stopped.

What to Expect When You Come in for Your First Session

After you sign in to our system, we will have a consultation with you about the reason for your visit. After you fill out our standard waiver form (in case you haven't already done it on our website) we will start walking you through the procedure.

We provide everything you need to be wearing in the chamber which is socks, gloves and slippers. After we explain you the process we step out of the room for you to get ready. After you put on a pair of gloves, socks and slippers, you will step into the chamber and hit a doorbell located by the temperature display. This will let us know that you are ready and one of our cryotherapy speacialists will step back into the room.

You will be standing on an elevator shaft so we will raise you up until your head and neck are above the chamber and we will go ahead and start the session. Our cryotherapy specialist will communicate with you the whole 3 minutes giving you a sense of safety and comfort.

During the session the temperature in the chamber stays within -250 to -305 degrees Fahrenheit. The treatment is completely safe. The ultra-cooled air that we use which is nitrogen already makes up 79% of the air that we breathe.

After you are done with your session, our cryotherapy specialist will step out of the room and you will step out of the chamber. As soon as you step out of the chamber you warm up instantaneously.

When you come out of the room we will give a tour of our
facility.
